The ”Investing in young people, investing in our future” project is one of the two pilot projects of the Youth Guarantee scheme which is to be implemented in Romania during the 2014-2020 period. Its main objective consists of increasing the employability of 2,500 persons aged 16 to 24 (inactive persons, job-seekers, young and long-term unemployed, early school leavers) living in the North-East, North-West, Centre and West development regions of Romania. These young persons will have access to integrated information, counselling and vocational guidance services, to training courses for jobs that are needed on the labour market, to apprenticeship programmes and labour market intermediation services, and to consulting and practical assistance to setting up a new business.
The long-term benefits of our project pertain to:
- Development of human resources who have difficulties in entering the labour market through a sustainable (re)insertion process;
- Maintaining young persons within the labour market by increasing their employment capacity as a result of the professional training, occupational retraining, specialization and continuing education courses organised under our project;
- Promotion of entrepreneurial culture, self-initiative, and of the appetency for personal and professional development, and
- Promotion of a positive attitude towards life-long learning and training.
The project activities will directly contribute to achieving the general objective of the Sectorial Operational Programme for Human Resources Development, which aims at the development of human capital and increasing competitiveness, by linking education and lifelong learning with the labour market and ensuring increased opportunities for future participation on a modern, flexible and inclusive labour market.
